Falling into Autumn
It seems strange to think that fall is near. Winter felt endless, and spring was damp and cold, the trees didn’t bloom until May. I feel as if I barely had the chance to enjoy summer.
Fall is a beautiful season, but I dread it because the days become shorter, colder, and require warmer a clothes. I’m not the type of girl who counts down the days to pumpkin spice lattes and busting out a collection of sweaters and scarves. I prefer warm, sunny days that allow for dresses, cut-offs, and cotton blouses.
While other fashion bloggers post about their favorite fall booties, denim, and sweaters, I try to carry over as many summer pieces into fall and slowly incorporate colder weather pieces.
Earlier in the spring, I picked up this ruffle sleeve top from Target’s Who What Wear line. I love the jersey material with poplin ruffles. I broke my own rule of not mixing work and weekend wear and wore this top to work and on the weekends. It is versatile and paired well with pencil skirts as well as cut-offs. This fall I will continue to wear it to work but with autumn-hued skirts and with my favorite high-waisted denim on the weekends.

Transitioning flutter sleeves into fall
Despite my aversion to cold weather clothes, I do look forward to wearing this Bernardo leather jacket more often. It’s a beautiful caramel color and incredibly soft. I bought it last year during the Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale but did not get as much use out of it as I would have liked. My current job requires that I wear a blazer or jacket of some sort to court, so I’m going to test the waters and see if this will pass as court appropriate.
Bring on fall!
