One Last Summer Date Night

Don't let the photos fool you.  The weather here in Munich turned efficiently autumn-like the 1st of September.  However, I couldn't resist one last maternity post regarding a summer dress that I received this past July from my mom.  She purchased the nautical blue and white striped dress from ASOS.  For those of you who have read my past posts regarding maternity clothing, you know this brand has been overall a winner in regards to stylish maternity fashion.

Two weeks ago, Matthias and I took advantage of one last truly warm weekend to go out for a date.  When the weather plummeted to the mid 50s this past week, I'm glad we did!  This gave me the excuse to wear this classic yet unique dress.

At 33 weeks and daring to wear stripes.

This dress became a favorite of mine the past few months for a variety of reasons.  First, I adore the combination of navy and white stripes (both before and during pregnancy.)  It's a classic combination.  Secondly, this dress combines this classic style with a unique neckline.  The white criss cross straps provide enough detail thereby eliminating the need to accessorize heavily.  This equals simplicity, which is a must for maternity styling.

I paired the dress with these brown Steve Madden sandals (a gem found at TJ Maxx!)  This dress and color combination pairs perfectly with various shades of brown footwear.  Sandals being the optimal choice as they are the easiest to get in and out of with a growing belly.

I feel lucky to have had a bulk of my pregnancy during the warmer months.  Dresses have truly been a dream to wear during those hot summer days with a growing bump.  As sad as it is to see the weather change, it does mean the approaching due date is fast approaching.  An additional plus: fall maternity wear.  Keep an eye out for some future posts regarding this type of clothing!
