Cool Kid on the Block
When I read fashion blogs, I gravitate towards style and outfits that are easy to assemble. Long gone are the days when I'd be willing to spend any substantial amount of time to put together an outfit and do my makeup (if it takes more than five minutes, forget it, I'll stay in my pajamas and watch Netflix). Why? Because I'm busy. I hold down an 8-5 job (in theory, I seem to put in more time than that) that requires a lot of energy and focused attention. When I get home and contemplate going out, I'm f-ing tired.
Enter the Leith ruched body-con dress. I saw this number last year a couple of different blogs (yes, I'm late to the fashion game) but didn't get one for myself after I'd had a chance to try it on. Any dress with the words "body-con" in it scare me. However, the soft jersey material and ruching are forgiving. So forgiving that you can gorge yourself at the Costco food court and camouflage your food baby with ease, which I did Tuesday evening before this photo shoot.
I wore this dress to work on Tuesday afternoon because I had a number of telephone appointments and no court. Even when no one but my coworkers see me, and my clients only hear my voice, I prefer to dress up a little. I swear it affects my work and my attitude.
Usually when I get home from work, I shed my work-attire and don something casual and comfortable, but this dress is so comfortable that I just threw on a moto-jacket and wore it for the rest of the evening.
This dress is a perfect addition to my microcloset because it mixes well with other pieces in my wardrobe and it can transition from day to night (wow, don't I sound like a legit fashion blogger?).
