Classic Cashmere

Now that January is over, it's easy to think spring is right around the corner. Alas, for many of us winter is still going strong and our wardrobe still reflects that. As fun as it would be to embrace spring styles, it doesn't match well with a frigid climate. Enter a closet staple: the cashmere sweater.
We've mentioned before investment pieces and cashmere fits perfectly into that category. A cashmere sweater is the perfect way to forget about winter and get lost in it's buttery soft texture. It's a wonderful opportunity to spoil yourself as we all should in what inevitably feels like an endless winter of gray skies and frosty temperatures.
This particular piece from Tommy Hilfiger has a detailed texture thereby adding character to a classic crew neck sweater. The vibrant cardinal red color is just in time for Valentine's day and is a delightful contrast to a gray color palette (and gray skies). A variety of neutral tones can be paired with this color. I've opted for my gray IBrand ankle jeans (which I missed dearly during pregnancy.)
While cashmere's price might be a bit of a sticker shock, it's important to remember this is a classic example of an investment piece. It never goes out of style and holds up for numerous seasons if taken care of properly (i.e. dry clean only). A prime time to purchase cashmere is both after Thanksgiving and Christmas, as stores typically offer deep price cuts. Treat yourself this winter!
