Black for Summer
Summer arrives late to northern Idaho, particularly this summer. The trees and flowers didn't bloom until mid-May, and the temperature remains in the 50s (60s if we're lucky). Thanks to the cold weather I'm still wearing a number of fall/winter pieces but I like to give them season-appropriate updates (weather permitting). Last weekend was finally sunny AND warm, so I pulled out one of my favorite dresses from last fall and added some summer touches.
Colorful accents can make your black pieces more summer appropriate.
Black is my go to color for fall and winter...and spring...and summer. I like it because it's so versatile; with the right accessories it works for any season. I wore this Who What Wear dress a lot last fall, coupling it with a white blouse and OTK black boots. This summer I'm pairing it with sandals and a denim vest for a casual weekend look.
Add some color to your look with a rosé-spritzer!
When it comes to accessories I'm not keen on carrying a purse at all times, last Saturday I opted for some rosé instead. It's my favorite summer wine!
No need for expensive accessories that take up space in your closet, just pour yourself a rosé-spritzer!
And I matched my nails to my beverage (jk, it was a happy coincidence)!
Sunnies, sandals, red lips and nails keep that black dress summer appropriate.
Samson agrees that black can be worn year round!
