Saying "No" to My Comfort Zone

Saying "No" to My Comfort Zone

Who doesn't love summer?  Sunshine, warm weather and spending endless time outside.  One more reason I love summer is the effortless style of summer dresses.  Since I'm currently on maternity leave, there's no business attire in sight for me.  Instead, my wardrobe has shifted to easy pieces that look put together with very little effort.  With an 8 month old taking up most of my time, it's easy to get in a rut with my fashion.  That's no excuse though not to put in a little effort in what I wear.  I've read and been told that getting dressed even if you don't plan to leave the house makes a big difference in your mindset.  Feeling put together can have a big impact on your outlook for the day.  I find this 100% true.

This dress was bought in Coeur d'Alene at T.J. Maxx while shopping with Claire.  We both tried it on and Claire opted for one with a similar fabric but in a different style.  A few years ago dresses weren't necessarily in the category of "comfort zone" for me.  Gradually that has changed for me.  However, the ruffled sleeves on this dress was a bit out there for me.  In my mind the sleeves are more dramatic than in reality.  I think mostly due to the fact this isn't something I would usually wear.

The fabric is delightfully lightweight.  It pairs well with brown sandals or flats and gold jewelry. It's incredibly comfortable, a necessity as a mother.  Such pieces in my closet allow for me to feel put together.  Doing this for yourself truly has an impact on your mindset for the day, whether your a stay at home mom or going to an office.
