Springing into Summer
There are too many reasons to count why summer is the superior season. From the warm weather to it not getting dark till after 9 pm, summer is by far my favorite time of year. Summer also has another thing going for it and that is the chance to wear dresses almost everyday. It's funny how I used to not be the biggest fan of wearing dresses, opting for shorts in the summer. But in the last few years dresses have been creeping up more and more in my wardrobe. This past April while home in the States, I had the chance to add even more to my closet.
This particular dress is from Max Studio, a brand which I've had great success with in regards to fit. This is the third dress I've bought from this brand. Their stretchy jersey material makes it a perfect summer dress for two reasons: comfort and breathability. I live in a fairly humid climate, which can be fairly uncomfortable during the summer (we're talking 90%+ humidity.)
This brand of dress offers fun bright prints, which contribute to how they flatter different figures. They can be dressed up or down depending on my need. I chose to pair this dress with my Adidas sneakers, making it a perfect outfit for a walk on a warm day.
The dress can also be dressed up with flats or wedge sandals. It can also be paired with a denim jacked (my favorite) or a cardigan for an extra pop of color. This makes it an ideal dress to transition from spring to summer. This means getting as much wear as possible from one dress instead of buying separate pieces for each season. Accessories are kept to a minimum to balance the business of the dress (an extra perk if you don't have a whole lot of time to get ready.) Overall, this dress is a winner and I look forward to getting a lot of use out of it in the following months!
