A Spring In Our Step

While we've mainly devoted posts to our clothes, don't let that fool you. We are equally diligent about keeping our shoe collection fashionably efficient as well. With the weather undeniably changing, so does what we wear on our feet. Warming temperatures mean storing away our winter boots and bringing out our spring and summer footwear.
As I've mentioned before, living in an urban area means opting for footwear that is both functional and fashionable. I don't need styles that will slow me down as I dash to catch the subway. This means I rely heavily on flats. I spend a lot of time on my feet for my job and flats are the obvious choice as it gets warmer in Munich. As I take stock of my shoes, I realize I gravitate towards tan and brown colors. This compliments the color palette I often wear.
My favorite spring shoe purchase from Zara.
In addition to flats, one of my go-to brands for spring sneakers is Sperry, specifically their Crest Vibe style. The combination of durability and cute styles make this a staple in my micro-closest. For me, a pair of Sperry boat shoes can last at least two seasons. Their classic style and color options make them perfect for a sportier look.
Claire also walks a lot during the day, but prefers heeled sandals for spring and summer. Typically, she indulges in a new pair every summer but sticks to classic wedges or neutral colors so she can carry them over from one year to the next.
Two years ago she bought these Chinese Laundry neon pink, wedge sandals on clearance. The pop of pink lends some color to the navy and black that fill her closet, and the low, wedge heel means she can wear them to work or for a night out without any discomfort. Win, win!
