What a Steal: A Maternity Outfit for Under $25

As I'm nearing the end of my pregnancy, it also coincides with the changing of seasons. Summer is officially over here in Munich. The leaves have changed and the days are getting shorter. Rain is a weekly occurrence and the temperature is slowly dropping day by day. As I've said before, I was lucky that a majority of my pregnancy was during the warmer months of the year. This allowed for my maternity wardrobe to rely heavily on dresses. However, my pregnancy is not quite yet over (12 days till the official due date!) This means I still need maternity-friendly fashion for the last few weeks of my pregnancy.
Enter one of my go-to places for bump fashion: H&M. I cannot recommend this store enough to expecting mothers looking for cute clothes within a reasonable price range. The outfit pictured above cost a grand total of €20 (about $23.) The pants were on sales for €15 while the shirt was an absolute steal at €5.
One of the keys to finding great deals at H&M for both maternity and non-maternity fashion is shopping their sales, particularly their sales in store that aren't always available online. I'm not only lucky to live in a city with what seems to be an H&M every few blocks, but my work was located directly across from one of their locations which sold maternity clothing (not all do I discovered.) Both items were bough in store during a weekday afternoon this past summer. I was already thinking ahead to how my pregnancy would coincide for a few weeks with cooler weather, therefore I needed to be prepared. I luckily had the maternity section to myself and discovered deep discounts on warmer layers for the bump. The shirt is a delightfully soft and stretchy fabric, while the pants are a nice change from typical blue denim. I've missed wearing my gray J Brand jeans, so these offered a nice alternative.
In a way I'm impatient to fit back into my regular clothing, which gives me by far more options to choose from. However, I'm sad to pack away the maternity clothing that has been with me on this special journey the past 9 months. The good news, all items I've bought have held up well and will hopefully be used again in the future.
